Monopile Grippers Factsheet

Controllab has developed an advanced motion compensation control system for pile grippers used in monopile installation on vessels. The system uses sensor data (such as MRU, GPS, and inclination) to calculate actuator setpoints. Through Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation, the pile gripper’s operation can be fully tested before installation on the ship. This increases reliability, even with limited testing at the factory (FAT) and on the ship (SAT). A digital twin is used to compare the results during testing and verify performance.

Controllab’s approach to motion compensation control has been proven effective, providing valuable support in the development of pile grippers. Download the factsheet to read more.
